Anonymous: Just to add to your well said points, prose can be any sort of writing. Prose is just another name for a piece of writing following normal, grammatical suit. Poetry can be free verse or structured or any of the many forms of poetry there is out there. It is also correct to say that some poetry is a type of prose, where it does not follow a rhythmic patter, as with free verse.
